Welcome to Bryony House

where hope LIVES

Put the fun in fundraising! This year we are challenging individuals and businesses to compete and raise money so we can purchase items as needed through the season.

We always have a list of necessities: Hair care and personal hygiene products, pillows and sheets, baby formula, books and toys for children, bus tickets, gift cards and, last but not least, jammies. We need all the things that make life better (the jingles) for those who use our services.

Register your Jingles & Jammies Team with us and create a holiday giving blitz for Bryony House. Make it an in-office competition or challenge another business to compete against yours. Have special office activities like “jammies” days and more. The limit is only your creativity.

A “top fundraiser” team and individual prize will be awarded at the end of the campaign. Help us make sure we always have the necessities on hand.

Gather your friends, family and co-workers for an event you won’t soon forget! Neville MacKay for an afternoon of floral designs, silent & live auctions, and lots of laughter – all in support of Bryony House.

Don’t miss this event. Limited seating is available and tickets will sell out quickly!

Thank you for supporting Bryony House and our important work

Make A Difference

Bryony House receives funding from a provincial operating grant through the Department of Community Services. To maintain our current level of service to women and children escaping intimate partner abuse, we rely on the generosity of our community through donations. You can always make a difference.

Our Newsletter

Welcome to our NEW quarterly publication, “The Bryony Buzz”! It’s a new
way we can communicate with our members, partners, stakeholders, and the
general public about our important work. We hope you will enjoy learning

Our Services & Goals

Mission

The Halifax Transition House Association of Nova Scotia (Bryony House) believes all women and their children have the right to live free of abuse. To provide shelter for women and their children who seek safe and secure refuge from a abusive relationship

Support

Bryony House assists women in preparing emergency plans to ensure their safety when leaving an abusive situation. This could include establishing an escape route, gathering important documents, saving money and hiding small bags of clothing.

Volunteer

We could do nothing without the support of volunteers. We have many volunteer job descriptions to support the work of the shelter and the administration. Volunteers help the objectives of the Halifax Transition House Association

Events

Throughout the year Bryony House and its Difference Makers host a number of special events. These provide an excellent venue for people like you to learn more about the services we provide and awareness of intimate partner abuse while having fun!

Donations

Bryony House receives funding from a provincial operating grant through the Department of Community Services. Our current level of government support does not cover the full cost of running a safe shelter and our essential programs. Donations are always welcome.

Sponsors

Our amazing sponsors help Bryony House to fulfill its mission to protect women in times of need. If you would like to be a sponsor then please view our sponsors page and/or contact us for more information. Every little helps the cause here at Bryony House.
